Dental radiography for 3D x-rays

I was born and finished high school in Namibia, but in those years there was no university in Windhoek so I came to South Africa to study.

I graduated as a dentist from the University of Stellenbosch in 1996. Shortly after graduation, Johann and I moved to the United Kingdom and practiced dentistry there for eight years. We moved back to South Africa in 2004 from which time I practiced dentistry in Durbanville until 2010 when we moved to Somerset West to open Johann’s specialist dental practice.

After the move, I decided against opening my own practice again, and chose to support Johann in his practice.

I manage the day-to-day running of the practice and I am in charge of the CBCT (Cone Beam Computed Tomography) radiology. I take these 3D scans for our own patients, as well as scans for patients on referral from other dentists in the area. I am enjoying this side of Dentistry, finding it extremely interesting and rewarding.
